Between 1995 and 2002 four young people lost their lives at Deepcut army barracks in Surrey.

The Army claimed it was suicide in all four cases. Despite police investigations and a Governmental Review, these deaths have never been fully explained and no-one has been held accountable as to why Privates Sean Benton, Cheryl James, Geoff Gray and James Collinson died.

“Had the death of Geoff Gray and his three fellow soldiers been instead, 17 year old students at a particular University, there would have been public and transparent accountability. That is all that the families of these young people demand, and deserve. It is what Geoff, James, Cheryl and Sean deserve and it is what we will continue to fight for in the litigation ahead.”
John Cooper, Barrister
